Device and Computer Repair
Some of your electronic devices can be too costly to replace and still have life left in them. North Star can troubleshoot, diagnose, order parts and repair these issues. Legacy and EOL products are always welcome as well.
If you are having issues with your computer or need help with setup, North Star can help with that as well. Some basic IT functions include data recovery, hardware and software issues and performance upgrades.
As a Disclaimer, I have worked in electronics long enough to know that not all devices can be saved. With the growing restriction on parts access and if the damage is too great there may be nothing that can be done or the device will need to be sent back to the manufacture. Everything is a case by case basis and all costs will be upfront and transparent in an itemized quote before any service is attempted.
Electronic Vehicle Upfitting
Want to improve your vehicle by adding electronics devices and features? Lights, sirens, control panels, inverters, chargers, entertainment and solar products are just a few of the items that North Star can do for you. Feel free to provide your own items to install or allow North Star select and order each product for you. Installations will be clean, safe, documented and will last as long as the life of the product or the vehicle.

Home and Business Security Systems
Home and business security systems are a popular service in the area. Security can range between motion sensor, to camera and to door entry alarms. North Star can work with you to not only find a system that works best for you, but also be able to install and program to fit your needs. Each home or business is different and requires unique solutions to fit their needs.
North Star will preform a site visit, discuss needs, provide a quote based upon those needs, order parts and install to specifications.

Cable Management
Over time your server room, office, studio or telecom room gets a little out of hand with cables and wires running each direction. Not only does this look messy and hard to work with, but can also lead to a potential fire or shock hazard. Services provided include: selecting the right cable management products for your specific environment and application, accurate source and destination labelling, easy to read diagrams and cable mapping and proper grounding of electronic equipment.

Audio Equipment Setup and Troubleshooting
This service can include anything from setting up sound board with the right cabling and interfacing to other devices, installing home theater systems, intercoms and PAs. While I myself would never claim to be an audio engineer, I can claim to eliminate any AC hums or ground loops.

Integrated Electronics
For those who would like to have a sleeker more custom look, while at the same providing the maximum utility of space. North Star combines its passion for woodwork and electronics to custom build or modify existing furniture to fit your individual or company need. Contact North Star to discuss anything from as simple as adding a power strip to a conference table, to building your studio recording desk, to a small automated plant station. If you have an idea or question, bring it to North Star to work out the details.
As a disclaimer: Projects that involve hardwoods and specialty electronics take time due to availability and shipping times. Design for custom solutions take time as well and will require an initial payment before a design is released.
